About

Serving Bradford since 2007

Bradford Family Orthotic and Foot Clinic has been serving the Bradford West Gwillimbury area since 2007. We have always been associated with the South Simcoe Medical Centre where family physicians, Dr. Fang Hu and Dr. Ashraf Deif have been serving Bradford for much longer. As a result of being so closely tied with a family practice, our approach to footcare, orthotics and the complete podiatry/chiropody scope of practice is much more clinically focused rather than numbers driven. We are practitioner owned which means our clinic is owned by the medical professional themselves. This tends to mean that the care and approach is more medically based and not corporately based on final numbers. We take the personal approach to treating your feet and we definitely treat you as a whole. We will give you a complete treatment plan and take care of you to the fullest extent of our scope of practice.

What to expect when you come in

We are a small, warm and clinically minded foot care clinic situated in between the old Bradford (four corners) and the new Bradford (all the new development around Summerlyn area. We cater to all types of foot care from infants to elderly alike. Like most medical clinics, when you first come in, you will be expected to fill out a form on basic and relevant contact and medical information. A consent form will also be part of the package. You can find a link to download this on this website so you may print, fill out and sign it ahead of time, so you don’t have to fill out any forms while when you come in. You may e-mail us the form also but please use all the necessary internet security as to not compromise your personal and medical information over the internet.

Our friendly staff will see you right away and not only assess your case but conduct a full treatment in your first visit. If there is any further treatment or cost involved, you will always be fully notified ahead of time. Most of what we do is insurance covered by extended health care coverage or group health care benefits from your work.

Foot care is not OHIP covered

Unfortunately, foot care or any products we sell or make is not covered by your Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) and therefore need to be submitted to your extended health care plan insurance benefits. If you didn’t have this type of insurance, keep your receipt as it is a tax deduction from your income at the end of the year. Medically necessary treatments and items can be deducted from your income. All our products are zero tax rated as they are medically necessary so there is no HST.

Extended Health Insurance Benefits

If you have a group or self paid policy, you may be reimbursed by your insurance company. Most insurance companies in the foot care and chiropody/podiatry field would insist on submitting paid receipts. This means the patient would have to pay first and get reimbursed back at a later date.  If your insurance company allows direct billing from the provider (your medical professional) we would be delighted to help you claim and directly bill to the insurance company so that you don’t have to pay out of pocket.
